Well Person Clinics

Keeping you fit and healthy!

Your body is a bit like a motor car - it needs regular care and attention and an occasional MOT! Obviously if you get ill you may need to see a doctor, but regular preventative care will identify possible causes of ill health and allow you to take action before disaster strikes. Just like a car some things are obvious when they go wrong and others are silent . You are unlikely to get symptoms of high blood pressure or high cholesterol, just a stroke or heart attack when it is too late! Why not take time to see the nurse for a well person check.

New Patient Clinics

Once your registration is confirmed you will be contacted by our Health Care Assistant, Christine, who will make an initial appointment for a New Patient Check. Please arrive in ample time in case we require any further information. You should bring your completed health questionnaire (if not already returned to us) and a urine sample. Sample bottles are available from reception. Permanent registration may be dependent upon attending this check up..

You will have some measurements taken including height, weight, and blood pressure. We will test you urine for abnormalities (useful to screen for Diabetes).

Christine will take details of your past medical history, family history and allergies.

If any significant problems are identified or if you are at risk you will be offered an appointment with a GP and/or a blood test.

Medication Reviews

All patients with more than 4 items on repeat prescription need to make an appointment with a doctor annually for review.

All patients over 75 with more than 4 items on repeat should see a doctor six monthly. Please bring all your medications with you so we can ensure you understand them.

Well person checks

You are welcome to make an appointment for a well person check. This particularly applies to the over 40's and men!

Those over 75 years are entitled to see nurse every three years for a health check. Obviously those on regular medication will be called at regular intervals (see above).

It is important to have your blood pressure checked, ideally, every 3-5 years. Please make an appointment with Christine for a blood pressure reading.

Heat Wave

We are currently enjoying/suffering a heatwave.
