Christmas and New Year Opening Times

As you would expect, Bank Holidays place some stress on health services especially the day after a Bank Holiday. This is especially true of the Christmas holidays. Not only is it the middle of winter with all of the winter viruses around but there are three bank holidays to cope with in quick succession. To manage this we will increase the percentage of "on the day" emergency slots the days before, and for a day or two after the Bank Holidays. You can expect some congestion on our telephone lines as well. Please be patient.

Please do not abuse the emergency appointments with routine matters as this deprives those in genuine need of seeing a doctor.

See the schedule below for details of availability. When we are closed telephone Thamesdoc on 020 8390 9991.

Normal Surgery

Reception desk is open from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. We are not open on Saturdays.

Please note; not all Doctors are available at all times listed.

There are two types of appointments. Urgent (also known as Emergency and "on the day") and Non-urgent (Routine).

EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS

If the problem is urgent, we will normally arrange for you to be seen by one of the doctors on that day (this particularly applies to children). Please note: You will not necessarily be able to see the doctor of your choice.

HOME VISITS

If, for reasons of ill-health you cannot attend the surgery, you may request that the doctor visit you at home. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to prioritise calls and, if possible, ring your request in before 11.00 a.m. Please remember that home visits are very time consuming for the doctors and attendance at the surgery is much preferred. Doctors are not obliged to make a home visit unless the condition of the patient dictates that it is indicated.

TELEPHONE ADVICE

Not all problems require a face to face consultation. All doctors and nurses are available to give advice after their morning surgeries. The receptionist will be happy to take your contact details to enable us to telephone you. This may save you having to attend for an appointment.

WHEN THE SURGERY IS CLOSED(Out of Hours Service)

This is covered by Thamesdoc and operates from 6pm until 8am Monday – Friday and all day Saturdays and Sundays. If you ring the surgery during these times you will hear a voicemail message directing you to Thamesdoc - Telephone number 020 8390 9991.
